SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - John Bennet, 21 Mar 1788 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- I John Bennet of Southampton County do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows (to wit): First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Rose the sum of five shillings. Second, I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Bennet the sum of twenty shillings. Third, I give and bequeath to my daughter Holland Serews the sum of five shillings. Fourth, I give devise and bequeath to my five sons namely: William Bennet, Samuel Bennet, Moses Bennet, Samuel Bennet and Elias Bennet the plantation whereon I now live with all the land thereunto belonging containing by estimation 250 acres to them and their heirs forever. Fifth, I give to my aforesaid five sons and my daughter Rebeccah Bennet one equal proportion all the residual and remainder of my estate of every kind to them and their heirs forever. Sixth, I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Edmund Johnson and my son William Bennet Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
