SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Joseph Bishop, 15 Sep 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: Joseph Bishop, Nottoway Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1796) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I, Joseph Bishop of the parish of Nottoway and county of Southampton, being of sound mind, memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament revoking all former Wills by me made in manner and form following: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ann Bishop the use of all my estate upon this plantation whereon I now live during her natural life. I give & bequeath unto my said son son Mark Bishop, all my joiners and carpenters tools after my beloved wife's decease to him and his heirs. I give & bequeath unto my said son Daniel Bishop all my coopers genis? locking tools, after the decease of my beloved wife, to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Bishop one cow, after the death of my beloved wife's decease, to her and her heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Wells one cow, after the decease of my beloved wife, to her and her heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Holt twenty shillings, after the decease of my beloved wife, to her and to her heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto my said son William Bishop one black walnut desk, after the decease of my beloved wife, to him and his heirs forever. My will and desire is that after all my just debts and legacies be paid and that my wife Ann have the use of the remainder of my estate of what nature or kind soever during her natural life and after her decease, to be sold & equally divided between my two sons Mark Bishop and Daniel Bishop, to them and their heirs forever. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Ann Bishop and my son William Bishop Executors of this my Last Will and Testament.
