SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Robert Bittle, 14 Feb 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the 14th day of February 1795, I Robert Bittle of Southampton County being in sound mind & memory & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner & form following: First, I give my soul to God who gave it me & my body I leave to (be) buryed at the discretion of my Executors, touching what worldy goods I have, I dispose of as follows, to wit: I give I give & bequeath unto my Henry Bittle and his heirs forever one neg. man nam'd Bob & one negro woman named Amey together with her future increase, also negro boy named Peter & negro boy named Luke, one negro boy named Allen & one negro girl named Isbel with her increase forever. I give and bequeath unto my son Kirby Bittle one negro man named Ben to him & his heirs forever. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Lanier one negro man named Bir.., also one negro woman named Sarah, together with her children that she has at this time & future increase forever. I give and bequeath unto Henry Barham, my grandson, two negro girls which is now in the possession of his father Benjamin Barham, by the name of Patience & Dorcas? together with their future increase, to him & heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son John Bittle two negros, one by the name of Peter and one by the name of Aaron. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mildred Turner, one negro woman named Winney together with her future increase to her & heirs forever. I lend to my daughter Mildred Turner one negro boy named Lewis during his life & after her death, I give the said negro boy to my grandson Benjamin Turner, to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give and beequeath unto my grandson Benjamin Bittle one negro boy named Moses, to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Bittle, daughter of Mildred Turner, one negro girl named Olive together with her future increase & her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son William Bittle the plantation & tract of land whereon I now live containing 35 acres more or less, to him & his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath unto my son William Bittle one negro man named David, one negro man named Kitt, one negro boy named Sam, one negro woman named Sarah together with her future increase, one negro woman named Sue, one neg. woman named Jinny, one negro girl named Charlotte, one negro girl named Mason together with their future increase to him and his heirs forever. I likewise give unto my son William Bittle, after my just debts &______________ ___________are paid all the remaining parts of my estate of what nature or kind soever to him and his heirs forever.
