All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Thomas Blake of Southampton County, Virginia being in a low state of health but of sound mind and memory, thanks be to God for it, have thought proper to dispose of what worldly goods I am possessed with in manner and form following (to wit): Item: After my just debts and funeral expenses are discharged, I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Blake the tract of land he now lives on containing one hundred and forty acres more or less to him and his heirs forever, also one half of my griss mill, also one negro named Charles. Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Blake the plantation and tract of land he now lives on containing one hundred acres more or less to him and his heirs forever, also one negro girl named Patience to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Etheldred Blake one tract of land he now is in possession of containing one hundred and sixty acreas more or less to him & his heirs forever, and one feather bed and furniture. Item: I give and bequeath to my son James Blake one plantation and tract of land wherein he now lives containing eighty seven acres be the same more or less to him and his heirs forever, also one feather bed and furniture. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Blake the plantation and tract of land I now live on containing eighty seven acres be the same more or less to him and his heirs forever. I likewise give to my son Benjamin Blake the plantation and tract of land formerly caled my son Thomas's containing seventy acres more or less to him and his heirs forever, also the one half of my griss mill, likewise one feather bed and furniture. I likewise give my son Benjamin Blake one negro boy named Jacob to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Etheldred Blake one negro woman named Charity and her child named Juthany to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son James Blake one negro girl named Priss to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Blake one negro girl named Dolly to him and his heirs forever. My will and desire is that all the remainding part of my slaves and other estate be it of what nature or kind soever be equally divided amongst my following sons, namely: Samuel, John, Etheldred, James and Benjamin Blake to him and their heirs and assigns forever. I do hereby constitute authorise and appoint my three sons Samuel, John & Benjamin Blake whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me before made.
