I bequeath unto my half brother James Henry Daughtrey all my landed estate to him and his heirs forever. 2. I bequeath unto my beloved mother Temperance Daughtrey my negro woman Amanda and child to her sole and separate use during her the said Temperance’s natural life; and at her death I desire the said Amanda and her increase to be divided amongst the following children of my mother viz: Mildred Ann Daughtrey, William E Daughtrey, and Johnle Daughtery; and my desire is that this division shall be made without selling Amanda and her increase. [page break] 3. After paying all my just debts out of the residue of my estate, I desire whatever may remain to be equally divided between the children of Theron A Scoggins. 4. I desire a bond I hold against Edwin Daughtrey to be given him without his making any further payments on the same. 5th. I desire my friend Edwin Daughtrey to act as my executor in carrying out this my last will according to the true intent and meaning thereof. Signed this 6th day of Nov 1848. This last Will and testament of Wiley Britt decd was this day proved by the oaths of George W Peet, & Lawrence E Daughtrey, two of the subscribing witness thereto and thereupon ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Edwin Daughtrey the executor therein named who made oath and gave bond and security according to law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form.
