SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS - Patience Burn, 5 Nov 1779 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- In the Name of God Amen, I PATIENCE BURN of the County of Southampton Virginia being weak of body but of Sound, perfect & disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality & uncertainty of this, to ____ life knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do then think proper to make this my Last Will & Testament in Manner & form following to wit: 1st I desire my just debts may first be paid & discharged. 2d I Give devise & bequeath to my Grand Daughter EDITH COUNCILL one Negro Girl named Patt to her & her heirs; confirming this to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof the said PATIENT BURN hath herento set her hand & Seal this Fifth day of Nov. one Thousand Seven hundred Seventy & Nine. Signed Sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said PATIENCE BURN to be her last Will & Testament.
