SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Elizabeth Butts, 2 Jul 1798

Will: Elizabeth Butts, St.Luke Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1798)

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Elizabeth Butts of Southampton County and Parish of
Saint Lukes, being of perfect mind and memory do hereby make and ordain this
my last will and testament in manner and form following, viz:

Item: I give to my son Benjamin Butts seventy five pounds current money of
Virginia to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my daughter Jenny Butts the sum of seventy five pounds current
money of Virginia to her and her heirs forever

Item: I give the remainder of my estate, if there be any, to be equally
divided amongst my four children, namely: Benjamin Butts, Robert Butts, Jenny
Butts & Patty Nicholson, to them and their heirs for ever.

Lastly, I do nominate my friends Zebulan Lewis & Benjamin Lewis my Executors to this 
my Last Will and Testament.

Zebulan Lewis

James Simmons

               At a Court held for the County of Southampton
                      the 15th day of October 1798

This Will was presented in court by Zebulan Lewis, the Executor therein
name'd, prov'd by the oaths of Zebulon Lewis & James Simmons, two of the
witnesses thereto, sworn to by Executors, Probat granted them giving bond &
ordered to be recorded.
