John CARSTARPHEN, will dated 26 Nov 1799, proved 16 Dec 1799

In the name of God  Amen  I John Carstarphen of Southampton County 
being in a low state of health  but in perfect sence and memory do make and 
ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following ___ 
Item, I leave all my Stock of all kinds and all my house hold and furniture 
to be sold and my Just debts to be paid __ 
Item, after my Just debts are paid the remainder If any to be equally divided 
also my Land & Negroes To be Equally divided between my Wife Margaret 
Carstarphen and son John Carstarphen and David Carstarphen & Margaret 
Carstarphen to them and their Heirs for Ever __ 
I Also appoint My Wife Margaret Carstarphen and Arthur Bowing & Mica.h 
Griffin my Whole and sole Executors to this my last Will & Testament made 
this 26.th day of November 1799. __

John Worrell j.r two of the witnesses thereto_ And on the Motion of the 
s.d Ex'or.s who made oath according to Law a certificate is granted them 
for obtaining a probat thereof in due form giving security,
