SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - William Clarke, 8 Sep 1797 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: William Clarke, St.Luke Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1797) IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen, I Williams Clarke of Southampton County and Parish of St. Luke, being weak of body but in perfect memory, thanks be to God for the same, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following (to wit): Item: I lend unto my beloved wife Sarah Clarke, a tract or parcel of land lying & being in Surry County, left to me by my granfather Clarks will, during her life or widowhood. I do also lend to her a negro girl by the name of Crecy during her life. I also lend her the residue of my estate after my just debts is paid. Item: Lastly, I appoint my beloved wife Sarah Clarke my hole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this 8 day of September 1797.
