Arthur Doles of the County of Southampton being of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament _ as touching Such worldly Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life _____ I. Give devise and dispose of in the manner and form following ___ Imprimis as the true intent and meaning respecting Land in the first place ___ _____ _____ _________ ______ Item _ I. Give and bequeath unto my Son Exum Doles one Certain tract or parcel of land it being all the land I. possess in the County of North Hampton and State of N.Carolina one Negro woman violate and Child and one Negro man Ben, one feather Bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever _____________________ Item. I. Give and bequeath unto my Son Willie Doles the plantation whereon he now lives with all the Stock of every Kind that is on said plantation three negroes named Ned, Lucy and Bob to him and his heirs forever ______________________________ [page break] [p.] 586 Item_ I. Give and bequeath to my Son Patrick Doles One Certain tract of Land which I. purchased from Benjamin Britt to him and his heirs forever _____________________ _____________________________ Item. I. further Give and bequeath unto my Son Allen & Exum Doles each one Good Horse Bridle and Sadlle for them to receive when they become of age to them and their heirs forever __________________ Item_ I. Lend to my Loving wife Elizabeth Doles the plantation where =on I. now reside with every other Species property which I. possess that has not been named after paying my Just debts_ One negro man Isham Excepted which I wish to be sold and apply'd to the payment of my just Debts, until Patrick becomes of age at which time my will and desire is that an equal division shall take place between my Said wife and her Child of all the above Lent property, the Land Excepted, which property I. Give and bequeath to them and their heirs foever ___ The Said Lent Land my will and desire is Shaould be equally divided between my Sons Herod and James Doles which land I. Give and bequeath to them and their heirs forever __________ I. This will was Willis Brister { presented in Court by the executor therein { proved by the oath of Silas Summerell one of the witnesses hereto and is ordered to be recorded_ And on the motion of Silas Summeral for adm'n on the estate of the decedt.
