SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - William Foster, 20 Jan 1791 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I William Foster of Southampton County being in a weak and low state of health but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit: First, I recommend my soul to almighty God, the creator of that and all things, and as for what worldly goods it hath been please God to bless me with I dispose of in manner following: Item: I lend to my loving wofe Edith Foster my lands whereon I now live with all my negroes, stock of all kinds, house hold and kitchen furniture and all the remainder of my estate which said lands, negroes, stock and other estate I lend to my said wife during her life or till my youngest child comes to the age of fifteen years. Item: I give and bequeath to my two sons John and William Foster, after the death of my wife, my lands to be equally divided between them and their heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath all the remainder of my estate to be equally divided when my youngest child comes sto the age of fourteen or fifteen years: amongst my wife Edith and my four children: John Foster, William Foster, Nancy Foster, and Rebecca Foster and the child that she is now going with which is not born which said estate I give to be equally divided amongst them such as negroes, stock of horses, cattle, hogs and sheep, house hold furniture, a crop of corn, and all other of any estate of what kind or nature soever I give to them and their heirs forever. And lastly, I constitute and appoint my friend Robert Goodwyn, Micajah Ellis and John Simmons Sr my hole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made.
