SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Micajah Griffin, Sr., 17 Oct 1802 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Micajah Griffin Sr of Southampton County, Virginia, being in good health and of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God for the same, knowing the uncertainty of this life, doth hereby make, ordain, establish and constitute this my last will & testament in manner and form following, to wit: First, I give and bequeath unto my son Harrison Jones Griffin all the plantation (where) I now live, after my and his mother's death. Also three negroes: Abram, Seirin? & Abel, to him and his heirs forever, and if he should die without an heir, I desire that the whole of the land and negroes shall be equally divided (between) my two daughters Nancy & Polly. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy, after my death, one cow and calf, one ewe and lamb, to her and her heirs forever. I also lend her one negroe boy Bob to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Polly Griffin one cow and calf, one sow and pigs, one ewe & lamb, one feather bed and one negroe girl named Jane, to her and her heirs forever, and also one chest, to her and her heirs forever. Item: I also give and bequeath unto my son Harrison Jones Griffin, after my death and that of his mother, all the remainder of my estate of stock, household and furniture to him and his heirs forever. And lastly, I do hereby nominate, appoint and establish Henry Jones and James Jones my whole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
