I give and bequeath to my Loveing wife Avis Harris the use of four Neg. dureing her life Namely Olive, James, David & Dinah and their futer increase & after the decease of my wife I give the said slaves and their increase to be equally divided Between my six Children Namely Harmon Harris Howel Harris Lucy Harris Elizth. Harris Joel Harris & Benjamin Harris or the Survivors of them, to them and their heirs forever My will and desire is that the said Slaves shall not be sold out of the family Item I give to four of my Children Namely Lucy Elizt. Joel & Benjamin Harris one feather bed to each of them Item I give and bequeath to my Loveing wife Avis Harris the use of my Land and Plantation whereon I now live dureing her life and after her decease I give my said land to my son Benjamin Harris forever but in Case my son Benja. depart this Life in his Non Age or without Lawful Issue of the Body then the said Land to my son Joel Harris and his heirs forever Item I give to my Loveing wife Avis Harris all the remainder of my Estate not herein before mentioned to her and her heirs forever Lastly I Constitute and appoint my son Howel Harris my whole & [sole] Executors of this my last will and Testament Revoking and making Void all former wills by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 11 day of May Anno Dom 1771 Sign'd Seal'd and delivered his to be the last Will of John Harris John + Harris ĪLSĪ in presence of mark Arthur Holleman Micajah Holleman William Holleman [page break] [p.] 20 [sic; re-numbered in modern pen] 22 At a court held for the County of Southampton the 11 day of February 1773 This will was presented in Court by Arthur Holloman Micajah Holloman & Wm.
