All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Joseph HART, will dated 13 Aug 1824, proved 20 Dec 1824 [margin notes] Joseph Harts Will I Joseph Hart of the County of Southampton and State of Virginia being of Sound mind & memory do hereby make and Constitute this writing to be my last will and testament in manner & form following hereby revoking all former wills or testaments by me made Viz} 1.st I desire that all my just debts be paid (2) I lend unto my loving wife Levena Hart during her Single life the use of all my Estate both real and personal of whatsoever nature or kind it may be 3.rd At my Wife's death or marriage I give the whole of my Estate to my three children viz to James Hart to Joseph Hart and to Mary Hart to be equally divided between them I give the same to them and their heirs forever 4.th I do hereby Constitute and appoint my wife Levena Hart my whole and Sole Executor to this my last Will and testament as Witness my hand and Seal this 13 day of August 1824 Signed Sealed and ack.d In presence of John P. Pleasants his James Stephenson Joseph + Hart ĪSealĪ William E. Phillips mark John S. Sadler At a Court held for the County of Southampton on the 20.th December 1824. This Will was presented in Ct. Lavena Hart the Executrix therein named refusing to qualify as Such proved by the oath of John P. Pleasants and John S. Sadler two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of James A. Bailey for administration with the will annexed the same is granted him for obtaining a probat &c. on his giving bond and Security whereupon the s.d James A. Bailey together with W.E. Bailey and John Holleman his Securities ent.d into and ackn.d a Bond in the penalty of fifteen hundred dollars Conditioned as the Law directs Teste. James.
