SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - William Hallaman, 19 Jan 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: William Hallaman, Nottoway Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1795) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the 19th day of January Anno Dom. 1795, I William Hallaman of the County of Southampton and Parish of Nottoway, being sick of body but in perfect sence and sound mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God, calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following (to wit): I give to my son John Hallaman one certain tract or parcel of land lying on the east side of the main road containing by estimation nighty acres be the same more or less, beginning at the seven pines thence along a line dividing the said land and Joseph Harts land to William Baileys line thence along the said Baileys line to a corner in Barbecue branch thence down the said branch to a mouth of a small branch, thence up the samll branch to the head, thence along a line of marked trees to the main road, thence along the road to the beginning, to him and his heirs forever and one negro called Jame to him and his heirs forever and likewise one feather bed and furniture to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give to my son William Hallaman one certain tract or parcel of land lying on the east side of the main road containing by estimation ninghty acres more or less beginning at the main road at the head of a bottom, thence along line of marked trees to the head of a small branch, thence down the branch to Barbecue branch, hence down Barbecue branch to the mouth of a small branch joining Micajah Hallamans land thence up the said small branch to the head thence along a line of mark'd trees to the main road, thence along the road to the beginning, to him and his heirs forever and one negro called Simon, to him and his heirs forever, like wise one bed and furniture to him & his heirs forever, provided if either of my three sons should loss his negro before distribution be made, to be made good out of my estate. Item: I lend the use of the remainder of my land to my loving wife during her natural life and after her death, I give I give the above said remainder of my lands to my son Thomas Hallaman, to him & his heirs forever. I lend the use of all the rest of my estate to be it of what nature or kind soever to my loving Lucy Hallaman for & during her natural life for the benefit of raising & maintaining my children, and after her death to be equally divided between my three sons, viz: John, William, Thomas or the survivors of them, to them & their heirs forever. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my wife Lucy Hallaman & my two sons John & William, my whole & sole Executors of this my Last Will & Testament revoking and making void all and every other Will heretofore by me made.
