SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Carter Harris, 20 Nov 1785 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wills: Carter Harris, Southampton Co, VA (1786) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Carter Harris of the County of Southampton being sick and weak but of sound sense and memory (thanks be to God for the same), do make and constitute this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner and form followeth (to wit): Item: I give unto my beloved Martha Elizabeth Harris my sorrell mare. Item: I give unto my friend Anslem Harrison eight pound cash and I direct all the rest of my estate be it of what kind soever to be sold and my debts paid and the remainder of the money after my debts are paid to be equally divided among all my brothers and sister to them and their heirs forever. And lastly, I nominate and appoint my two brothers John Harris and James Harris Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me at time heretofore made. IN WITNESS hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of November 1785.
