SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - John Hart, 12 Mar 1792 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: John Hart, Nottoway Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1792) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the twelfth day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety two, I John Hart, of the County of Southampton and Parish of Nottoway being sick and weak in body but of perfect sence and sound memory, thanks be to almighty God, do make and order this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit: Imprimis: I lend the use of my hole estate to my loving wife Jane Hart during her widowhood and at her death or marriage what remains after my just debts & legacys are paid, to be equally divided between my six children. Item: I give to my son Samuel Hart one good feather bed & furniture. Item: I give to my daughter Rebecca Hart one good feather bed and furniture. Item: I give to my two sons John and Charles Hart the plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred and twenty acres, more or less, to them & their heirs forever; and each of them a good feather bed & furniture. Item: I give to my son Samuel Hart one good feather bed and furniture. Item: I have given my son Henry a good bed already which he is to keep. I likewise constitute and appoint my two sons Henry Hart & Samuel Hart my whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and revoking disannuling and making void all and every other former Will heretofore by me made. IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand affixed my seal the day and year above written. John Hart (seal) Signed, sealed, published and declared to be the Last Will and Testament of the above in presence of: Jesse Womble Epamus Washington Jesse Washington At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 11th day of June 1792 This Will was presented in court by Henry Hart and Samuel Hart, the Executors therein named, proved by the oaths of Thomas Washington and Jesse Washington, two of the witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executors whom (gave) oath according to law, Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form giving security whereupon &c.
