The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Southampton Co., VA, Will Book 3, p. 25 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets & surname capitalization mine] [p] 25 [note in margin] JOHNSON Job; his Will In the Name of God amen I Job JOHNSON of Southampton County being very sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory calling to mind the mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make ordain this my last Will and Testament first of all I give and recommend my soul to God that gave it me as touching such worldly estate therewith it hath pleased God to bless me I despose of in manner and form following: Imprimis It is my Will and desire that my lands as lso all my other estate both real and personal be sold to the highest bidder, by my Executors hereafter named: Secondly After my just debts are paid; I give and bequeath one half of my estate to my well beloved Wife Elizabeth and to her hiers and assigns Thirdly The other half of my estate I Give and bequeath to the Child which my Wife now goeth with (if any) but if my Wife should not be with child or the child should be born dead It is my Will and desire that my Wife should have all my estate to her and her hiers and assigns forever- Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my Dear friend John BEALE my whole and sole Executor to this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all other Wills legacies and bequeaths by me heretofore made of what nature or kind soever hereby Ratifying and confirming this as my last Will and Testament: In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of January: 1773: Job JOHNSON X His Mark Signed Sealed and deliver'd and pronounced by the said Job JOHNSON as His last Will and Testament in the presence of Geo WASHINGTON Benj:n WALLER Step:n JOHNSON X His Mark At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 11:th day of February 1773.
