The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will of William Joyner Southampton Co. , VA DB 1-274 Dated 25 October 1757 In the name of god amen I William Joyner of the County of Southampton being very sick & weak in Body but of perfect sense & memory thanks be to almight god for it do make & Declare this my Last will & Testament revoking all former wills by me before made. first & principally I give my soul to almighty & my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian Like manner by my Executors hereafter mentioned & as for my Worldly Estate I give as followeth.... Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Underwood one negro woman named Hannah which I bought of Joseph Godwin & all her increases to her & her heirs forever.... Item I give to my son William Joyner one negro woman named Sarah & one negro girl named Patty one cross cut saw & one Hundred & seventy five acres of land which I bought of Robert Little to him & his heirs forever Item I give to my son Israel Joyner one hundred acres of land which I took up & one negro girl named Hanna to him & his heirs forever I give to my Daughter Ann Vick one negro girl named patty with her Increases to her & her heirs forever.. Item I give to my son Lewis Joyner one negro boy named James & one negro girl named Sary with her Increases to him & his heirs forever. Item I give to my son Moses Joyner one negro Boy named Jamy & one negro boy named Byus & three Hundred acres of Land which I bought of Benjamin Bradshaw to him & his heirs forever.... Item I give to my son Giles Joyner one negro man named Sam only my wife to have the use of him during her life or widowhood also I give to my son Giles the plantation whereon I now live & my hot water Mill to him & his heirs forever... Item I give & bequeath to my Loving wife Ellinor Joyner all the Rest of my Estate whatsoever & Wheresoever & I do hereby appoint my son Giles Joyner my hole & sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament. Revoking all others by me berfore made as Witness my hand & seal this twenty fifth day of October one Thousand seven hundred & fifty seven William (x) Joyner Signed, Sealed & Delivered in presence of us. William Haynes, Joseph Joyner, John Joyner At a court held for the County of Southampton the 9 th day of November 1758 This will was presented in Court by Eleanor Joyner the Executrix therein named proved by the oaths of John Joyner & Joseph Joyner two of the witnesses there to & ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of the said Executrix who made oath according to Law Certificate is granted her for obtaining...due from giving security whereupon
