JOYNER (1833-1871), will dated 4 Aug 1871, proved 20 Nov 1871 In the name of God Amen, I Catherine V. Joyner being in sound mind and memory do declare this writing to be my last will and testament. Item 1st: I will and direct my just debts to be first paid. Item 2nd: It is my will and last direction that the remainder of my property after the payment of my debts and funeral expenses shall remain as it now is to and for the use and benefit of my Mother Jane Joyner. Item 3rd: At the death of my Mother all of my property not then consumed in the use thereof save one bond of a hundred and fifty dollars hereinafter mentioned shall go to my sister Missuri(sic) A. Joyner and her heirs forever. Item 4th: At the death of my Mother the bond mentioned in (item third) against my brother Elisha Joyner to be equally divided between my brothers Mathew S. Joyner and Elisha Joyner to be held as their property absulutely. Item 5th: I bequeath to my brother Thomas W Joyner the sum of fve cents and no more Given under my hand and seal this 4th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy one. Vaughan At a court held for the county of Soutahampton on the 20th day of November A.D. 1871, this last will and testament of Catharine(sic) V. Joyner deceased was proved by the oaths of J. A. Kitchen and J. H. Vaughan the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And it being declared in oath that the value of the estate does not exceed the sum of one thousand dollars no stamp is required.
