All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Henrietta JOYNER (1732-1762), will dated 1 Nov 1750, proved 12 Aug 1762 estate inventory, returned 9 Dec 1762 November the first day 1750 I Hennaretta(sic) Joyner dweller in the Southampton County being at present sick and weak in body but perfect in sence(sic) and memmory calling to mind that it is once appointed for all die think fit to make and constitute this my last will wherein I give and bequeath my worldly goods which it hath almighty God to bestow on me in manner and forme(sic) as followeth. first I bequeath my soul to God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner. Item I give to my son Arthur Joyner seven head of hoggs(sic) and a new feather bed and a cow and calf. Item I give to my daughter Martha Joyner one blew(sic) rugg(sic) and two iron pots. Item I give to my daughter Mary Tines five shillings. Item I give to my daughter Prudence Long five shillings. Item I give to my son Henry Joyner all the remaining part of my estate within doors and without and I allow my son Henry Joyner to be my hole(sic) and sole executor to see this my last will and testament performed Henneritta (her mark) Joyner Witness John Joyner Bridget (her mark) Lewis At a court held for the county of Southampton the 12 day of August 1762. This will was presented by Henry Joyner the executor therein named proved by the oaths of Bridget Lewis a witness thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Henry who made oath according to law, certificate was granted him for obtaining a probat hereto in due form giving security whereupon etc. Teste R Kello ============================================================================ In obedience to an order of the court of Southampton the 12 day of August 1762 had annexed a true and perfect inventory of the personal estate of Heneritta Joyner deceased by. To 2 iron potts(sic) and 4 pewter dishes, to 7 pewter plates and 1 iron kittle(sic), to 1 pewter tankard and 1 bellmettle(sic) skillet, to 1 iron spit and 1 flesh forlk(sic), to 1 brass ladle and 1 pewter porringer, To 1 box iron and heaters, to 1 linnen(sic) wheel and 1 pr sheep shears, To 1 grid iron and 1 pr fire tongues(sic), to 1 earthen dish and 2 chests, to 1 fether(sic) bed and furneture(sic) and 1 small trunk, to 1 feather bed and 1 chair, to 18lb feathers and 1 stone jugg(sic), to 2 stone butter pots and 1 mugg(sic), To 1 punch bowle(sic) and 2 old books, to 1 salt sellar(sic) and 1 pr stillards(sic), To 1 earthen plate and 1 pewter chamber pot, to 24 geese and 1 pr spectacles.
