Temperance JOYNER, (1805-1869), will dated 10 Nov 1863, recorded 19 Jul 1869 

I Temperance Joyner of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia do make 
this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows.
1st  I give and bequeath unto Nancy Lewis daughter of John Lewis and Catherine 
his wife one feather bed, furniture, one trunk and forty dollars in cash to her 
and her heirs forever.
2nd The balance of my estate wholly and soly(sc) to Roxana T. Joyner my 
granddaughter to her and her heirs forever, that is if she should live to 
have heirs and if not I ask it equally divided between Robert Druory(sic), 
Robert Lewis and William T. Rowe to them and their heirs forever.
Next I do hereby constitute and appoint Zachariah Doyel executor to this 
my last will and testament revoking all other wills and testaments heretofore 
made by me in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal 
this 10th day of November one thousand eight hundred and sixty three.

above named Temperance (hermark) Joyner in the presence of
Zachariah Doyel
Josephus Turner

At a court held for the County of Southampton on the 19th day of July 1869 
this last will and testament of Temperance Joyner deceased was proved by the 
oaths of Zachariah Doyel and Josephus Turner the subscribing witnesses thereto 
and ordered to be recorded.
