SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - John Jackson, 18 Sep 1802 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I John Jackson of the county of Southampton and state of Virginia, being weak in body but of sound memory , do make and constitute this my last will and testament in the manner and form following (viz): Item: I lend unto my wife Mary Jackson all my land and plantation containing one hundred and fifty nine acres, be the same more or less, with all my property during her widowhood. Item: My will and desire is after the death of my wife or after her widowhood, that my estate be equally divided amongst my five children: Jordan, Micajah, Pherebah, Pheby and Mary only that £10 of Phereba's proportion should be given to my grand daughter Matilda Daughtry and likewise that £10 of Micajah's proportion should be given unto my grandson John with their heirs forever. And lastly, I do appoint and nominate my beloved wife Mary Jackson and my friend Drewry Beal Executrix and Executor of this my Last Will and Testament utterly revoking and disannulling all and every other Will and legacies, Testaments and bequeaths whatsoever before by me mentioned.
