SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Jesse Joiner, 25 Sep 1789 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: Jesse Joiner, Nottoway Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1798) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Jesse Joiner of the county of Southampton and Parish of Nottoway, being of perfect sound, sense and memory, thanks be to the almighty God for the same, do constitute make and ordain my last will & testament in form following: First, I lend to my loving wife Priscilla during ther natural life the use of the plantation and land I now live on containing by estimation two hundred acres being the plantation left me by Joseph Vick, also my negroes Wesley & Harry during the term above. Second, I give & bequeath to my son Lewis Joiner five shillings current money of Virginia. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son Amos Joyner and to his heirs and assigns forever the plantation & lands given me by my father containing by estimation two hundred and sixty two acres, it being the plantation and land which Thomas Love now lives on by rent. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Joiner and to his heirs & assigns forever after the decease of my wife Priscilla, the plantation & land I now live on containing by estimation two hundred acres, be the same, more or less, and being the same plantation and land I now live on. Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Margarett Joyner five shillings current money of Virginia. Sixthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Joiner five shillings current money of Virginia. Seventhly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Joyner five shillings current money of Virginia. Eightly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Joyner five shillings current money of Virginia. Ninthly, I give & bequeath to my daughter Levina five shillings current money of Virginia. Tenthly, My will and desire is that all my estate, both real and personal, not yet disposed of, whether mix't or otherways, may be equally divided between my beloved wife Priscilla and my children, namely: Lewis, Amos, Samuel, Margarett, Sally, Elizabeth, Martha & Levina Joyner and their heirs & assigns forever. Eleventhly, I do hereby constitute and appoint and ordain my son Lewis Joyner whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament revoking and disannuling all former Wills heretofore made by me and acknowledging this only to be my Last Will and Testament.
