SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Ann Joyner, 26 May 1785 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wills: Ann Joyner, Southampton Co, VA (1785) IN THE NAME OF GOD amen, I Ann Joyner of the County of Southampton being in perfect health & memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make this my Last Will and Testament. I recommend my soul to the almighty God who gave it me and my body to the ground from whence it was taken to be buried in a decent manner and as touching my worldly estate, I do dispose off in manner and form as followeth: Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Drake one trunk and all my wearing clothes. Item: I give unto my son Jethro Joyner one bull and one chest. Item: I give unto my son Lawrence Joyner five shillings. Item: I give unto my son Ely Eley five shillings. Item: I give unto my grand son William Sley five shillings. Item: I give unto my daughter-in-law Mary Joyner one side saddle & one linen wheel. Item: I give unto my grandson Josiah Joyner seven pounds current money. Item: I give unto Catee Joyner, my grand daughter one bed and turnibore? Item: I give unto my grand daughter Nanne Joyner one cow and calf and one standing safe. Item: I give unto Ann Joyner, the daughter of Lewis Joyner, son? one bead & stead. Item: I give my great bible unto my grand daughter Peggy Joyner, daughter of Gethro Joyner and the remainder part of my estate I give unto my two grand sons namely: Gethro Joyner and William Joyner, the son of William Joyner, deceased, to be equally divided between them. I, Ann Joyner, do appoint my son Jethro Joyner and Arthur Bowens my whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all others.
