SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Arthur Joyner, 20 Sep 792 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: Arthur Joyner, Nottoway Parish, Southampton Co, VA IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Arthur Joyner of the County of Southampton and Parish of Nottoway, being weak in body but of perfect sound sense & memory, thanks be to almighty God for the same, as touching such temporal estate goods and chattles as it hath been pleased God to bestow on me, I give and desire in manner & form following: Imprimis: I give & bequeath to my son Robert Joyner five shillings. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my sons Kemp & Theophilus Joyner my horse, two cows & calves and all my stock of hogs, also one feather bed and furniture to each of them but in case my son Theophilus Joyner should die without heir lawfully begotten of his own body, then legacy to my my son Kemp Joyner & his heirs. Thirdly, I give bequeath to my daughter Mary Green Joyner one feather bed, one chest & one spinning wheel, the said Mary to have the first choice of my beds & furniture to her & to her heirs forever; also my loom & gur?. Fourthly and lastly, all the remainder of my estate not yet disposed of of any kind whatsoever to be qually (equally) divided between my three children Kemp, Theophilus & Mary Joyner to them to their heirs & assigns forever. And I do hereby constitute appoint & ordain my friends John Davis & Burwell Rawlings whole & sole Executors of this my Last Will & Testament.
