SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Mary Joyner, 22 Oct 1798 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- I, Mary Joyner of Southampton County, Virginia being weak of body but of sound mind and memory knowing the uncertainty of this transitory life do think proper to make this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit: First: I leave to James Joyner (black man) four barrels of corn, one large bea cow and two first choice of my first furrow? of shoats or fatt back, one brown trunk, one frying pan, one pott, three stone jugs, one meal sifter, two glass bottles, two white mugs, one blue bole & two saucers, one ax, one hatchet, & one weeding hoe, one basket, one large hog shord & bread tray, one white bowl, one pair sheaars, box iron & two heaters, some sitting chairs & one new kegg. Also, I give desire and bequeath to Ely Joyner, son of Joshua Joyner my feather bed with funiture as follows, to wit: two sheets & one blanket. Also, I give desire and bequeath to Baker Joyner first choice one of my shoats remaining for his favores. Also, I give desire and bequeath to Elizabeth Joyner of Jonas my flax wheel and appurtenances thereunto belonging for the favores done me. Also, I give desire and bequeath my potatoes to be equally divided between Elisha Joyner of Joshua of John and Elizabeth Joyner of Jonas. Also, I give desire and bequeath to Shadrack Cobb for his favores my big? pine table. Also, I give desire and bequeath to Joshua Joyner of John all the remainder of my estate consisting of nine head of hogs with every thing heretofore not mentioned in the other legacies and I do hereby revoke & disannull all other Wills by me heretofore made saatisfying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will & Testament.
