SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Mary Kicks, 1785 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wills: Mary Kicks, Southampton Co, VA (1785) I, Mary Kicks senior of Southampton County, being in perfect sense and memory do constitute this as my Last Will and Testament. Firstly, I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Kicks ten pounds lawfull money of Virginia to him and his heirs forever. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son Robert Kicks five shillings current money of Viginia to him and his heirs forever. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my son Richard Kicks all the land which I have leased during (here there is a l with a u above it and an s slightly below that and to the right, and an arched line above the u) lease of the Nansemond Indians together with all which I have possessed him with also one con? to run his heirs and assigns forever. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Kicks all which I have already possessed him with to him his heirs and assigns forever. Fifthly, I give & bequewath to my three daughters, Mary Kicks, Milisent Kicks & Atrin? Kicks all the remainder part of my estate of what nature soever to them their heirs and assigns forever. This Will was proved by the oaths of Lemuel Hart and Josiah West Cathen witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Robert Kicks and Richard Kicks who made affirmation according to law (being of the people called Quakers) letters of administration with the annexed are granted them on the said estate giving security whereupon &c.
