SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Bird Land, 22 Aug 1794 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Bird Land of Southampton County, state of Virginia being very weak in body at present but of sound & perfect mind & memory, thanks be to the almighty God for the same, calling to mind the uncertainty of my body & knowing it is appointed for all to die, do make & ordain this my last will & testament, vizt: First of all, I desire that all my debts & funeral charges be paid & discharged. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Littleberry Land & his heirs forever, one negro girl named Bob? & one negro girl named Ginna which is now in his possession. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Li?uallin Land & his heirs forever, one negro girl named Molly.(white space over 2nd & 3rd letters of son's name - there is a dot over the second letter, so I assume it is an i) Item: I give & bequeath to my daughter Lucreatia Bowers, the wife of Britton Bowers & his heirs forever, one negro woman named Hannah & one negro girl named Esther. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Lewis land and his heirs forever, the plantation whereon I now live with the whole of my house hold, also two negros named Pat & Natt, also one bay mare (or one boy Marc?). Lastly, I nominate & appoint my trusty & well beloved son Littleberry Land my whole & sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament.
