SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Edith Lundy, 13 Jul 1797 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Edith Lundy of the county of Southampton, being in perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following: Imprimis: I give unto my son Peyton Lundy one negro man called Will and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Nancy Rivers three negroes Willis, Nemus and Allen, one bay mare and riding chair, to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give to my daughter Patsey Nicholson six negroes, namely: Stepney, Mariar, Anthony, Mingo, Sleanay and Judy, also two feather beds and furniture, one chest and table with all the rest of the furniture I have heretofore let her have, I say I give it to her & heirs forever. Item: I give to my daughter Nancy Rivers one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. Item: I desire and direct that my Executors hereafter named make sale of my negroe woman Mary and the money arising from such sale be put to interest untill my grand children, namely: Byrd and Charlotte Lundy, children of my son Peyton, should arive to lawful age or marries, then to be equally divided between them, and should either of the said children die in their non?age without marrying, then the survivor to enjoy the whole of the said money. Item: I give unto my son John Lundy three negroes namely: Casar, Tom and Elam with all the rest and residue of my estate of whatever nature or kind and wherever found upon his, my said son John Lundys, paying all my just debts I say I give it to him and his heirs forever. Item: I desire that my wearing apparel be equally divided between my two daughters, namely: Nancy Rivers and Patsey Nicholson. I say I give their several shares to them and their heirs forever. And lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my son John Lundy and my friend Robert Mabry Executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills or bequests heretofore by me made.
