All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ John MERCER, will, 29 Apr 1840 (pr'd 21 Sep 1840) estate account current, 1840-42 (21 Mar 1843) estate inventory & appraisement, 23 Dec 1841 (21 Aug 1843) [margin note] J Mercer Will I John Mercer of the County of Southampton do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in Manner and form following (Viz) After paying my just Debts I lend all my estate both real and personal to my dear beloved wife so long as she lives and remains my widow that she may keep my children with her but should she Marry, I leave her the portion allowed her by Law at her death or Marriage I , give and bequeath all the said property to be equally devided between my five Children Viz, Martha Ann, Sarah, Mary, June Louisa and Eveline J: Nominate and app- oint my dear beloved wife Sole executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other and former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
