SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - James Martin, 18 Oct 1791 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I James martin of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, thanks be to almighty God for the same, do make and constitute this to be my last will and testament in form and manner following, to wit: I leave my sorrell horse and colt and one stear to be sold and the money to be applied to the payment of my debts and if any balance remain to be left in the hands of my wife Amey to be applied to her own use. As to the remainder of my estate, real and personal, I lend the use thereof to my loving wife Amey during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease or marriage whichever may first happen, I give and bequeath the same to be equally divided between my son Kinchin Martin and daughter Lucy Gurley and their heirs forever.
