SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - John Moore, 15 Nov 1801 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will: John Moore, St. Luke Parish, Southampton Co, VA (1801) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I John Moore of the County of Southampton and Parish of Saint Luke do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows, to wit: Item: I lend to my loving wife Temperance Moore the plantation whereon I now live, also the use of all my slaves, stock of all kinds whatsoever, household and kitchen furniture, plantation utensils, my whole crop of all kinds whatsoever, to her during her natural life. And further my will and desire is for my children to be schooled out of my estate and each of my sons to be bound out when they arive to the age of fifteen years and for my daughters to live with my wife untill they come of age or marry and to be supported out of my estate. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Henry Moore the plantation whereon I now live, after the death of my wife to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath my land lying in Carolina with my sons Thomas Moore and James Moore (viz): that is to be equally divided between them to them and their heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebekah Moore the negroe girl named Doreas & her increase after the death of my wife to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sally Moore one negroe girl named Nancy and her increase, after the death of my wife to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine Moore one negroe girl named Mason (and) her increase after the death of my wife to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my child which my wife is now pregnant with, one negroe boy named Isham, after the death of my wife, to that (the child) and thats heirs forever. My further will and desire is after the death of my wife for my whole estate that is not already given away to be sold by my Executors and the money to be equally divided between the whole of my children and their heirs forever. And further I do appoint my friends Benjamin Blunt and Henry Blunt, my whole and sole Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
