All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Lamuel POND (1773-1833), will dated 15 Aug 1832, recorded 20 Jan 1834 I Lamuel Pond of the County of Southampton do hereby make my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following Viz: 1st I lend to my Wife Anne Pond, the use of my land during her natural life and after the payment of my just debts I give her the balance of my personal property. 2nd After the decease of my wife I give any said land to Edward Pond and one feather bed and furniture, on condition that he shall pay to Norflet Pond five dollars to Richard Pond five dollars to Jethro Pond five dollars to Nancy Pond five dollars to Margaret Pond five dollars and to Martha Pond five dollars. 3rd And lastly, I do hereby Constitute and appoint John Denegre Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of August 1832. Lamuel Pond Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us William C. Pond Wiley Joyner. At a court held for the County of Southampton the 20th day of January 1834 This last Will and Testament of Lamuel Pond decd. was proved by the oath of William C. Pond and Wiley Joyner the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Norflet L. Pond (John Denegre the Executor named in the said Will appeared in Court and refused to take upon himself the burthen of the Execution thereof) who made oath and together with Richard Kello, William C. Pond and John Vick his securities entered into and acknowledged a Bond in the penalty of Fifteen hundred Dollars conditioned as the Law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the Estate of the said Lamuel Pond with his Will aforesaid annexed in due form Teste, James Rochelle C.C.
