SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Mary Pritlow, 28 Jul 1792 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- I Mary Pritlow of Southampton County being sound in mind & memory do hereby make and ordain this to be my last will & testament in manner &* form following (viz): First, I give and bequeath to Ann Ricks, wife of Robert, ten pounds cash. Second, I give & bequeath to Rebeccah Hunnecutt, widow of James Hunnecutt, deceased, ten pounds cash. Third, I give and bequeath to Sarah Bailey, wife of Samuel Bailey, ten pounds. Fourth, I give & bequeath to the monthly meeting of friends at Black Water ten pounds. Fifth, I give and bequeath to Barnaby Micon of Prince George County ten pounds. Sixth, I give and bequeath to Peter Peebles Jr and James Peebles each five pounds. Seventh, I give to four young negros now under my care, namely: Lllie, George, Cala & Charlotte each 2 (looks like 2%, could be 2 shillings or 20 shillings). Eighth, My will & desire is that all the remainder of my estate may be equally divided amongst Thomas, Robert, Richard, Joseph, Mary, Milicent & Ann Ricks, children of my brother Robert Ricks, and Elizabeth Bailey & Sarah Bailey, daughters of my sister Elizabeth Scott, dec'd. I constitute and appoint my nephew Robert Ricks my whole and sole Executor to this my Last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand & fix't my seal this 28 day of July 1792.
