I Holladay Revell Jr. of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia being in sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (viz) first and principally I bequeath my soul to Almighty God who give it me and for my worldly goods I dispose of them as follows: Item 1st, my will and desire is that the whole of my personal estate of whatever kind there may be - be sold and the money arising therefore pay my funeral expenses and all my just debts and the balance if any I want equally divided between my sons John Revell, Samuel Revell, Benjamin Revell, my grandson William Revell, my daughters Martha Bynum, Rebecca Hedgpeth, Lucy Blow and my daughter Sally Whitfield's children to them and their heirs forever. Item 2, my further wish and desire is that lot of land _____ whereon my dwelling house stands which lot of land I have designated myself by line to be divided in three equal parts. One third I give to my son Samuel Revill to him and his heirs forever. One third I hand to my daughter Martha Bynum during her life and at her death I give the same to her living children to them and their heirs forever and the remaining third of land in like manner I hand to Lucy Blow and at her death I give to her living children to them and their heirs forever. Item 3rd) My further wish and desire is that lot of land No 2 whereon a small house stands to be equally divided in three parts designated by myself as before by a line. One third I hand to my son Benjamin Revell during his life and at his death I give it to his living children to them unto their heirs forever. One third of same lot No 2 I give to my Grandson William Revell to him and his heirs forever. The remaining third I give to my grandson Robert Revell to him and his heirs forever. Item 4th) My wish and desire is that the land whereon my son John Revell now living to be divided into two parts which is designated by line made the house. Part I hand to my son John Revell during his life and at his death I give it to his living children to them and their heirs forever. The other part called the Centerfield I give to my two grandchildren Benjamin Whitfield and Nancy Whitfield to them and their heirs forever. Lastly I constitute and appoint my two friends Augustin Pope and John C. Turner my whole soul (sic) Executors to this my last will and Testament making void all forms or wills heretofore made by me. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 1st day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight. John C. Turner one of the executors therein named refusing to take upon himself any part of the burden of the execution thereof. On the motion of Augustine Pope the other executor therein named who made oath and together with John C. Turner and James Worrell his securities interest into and acknowledged a bond in the ______ of seven hundred dollars conditioned according to Law.
