Scott Will I James Scott of the County of Southampton Virginia do make constitute and ordain this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following (Viz) I give devise and bequeath unto my sister Ann Pretlow the whole of my estate (personal and real) to her and her heirs forever. and I nominate Constitute and appoint my said sister Ann Pretlow Executrix to this my last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of the sixth month one thousand eight hundred and ninetten Signed sealed and declared by the said James } Scott to be his last will and Testament in presence of} James Scott ĪsealĪ Benja. Devany Elisha Lewis John Moore At a Court held for the County of Southampton on the 14.th day of January December 1841 This Last will and Testament of James Scott deceased was was [sic] proved by the oath of Benjamin Devany and John Moore two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded.
