All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Etheldred TAYLOR, will dated 20 Feb 1791; undated codicil; proved 14 Jul 1791 [margin notes] Etheldred Taylors Will ŻŻŻ"ŻŻŻ In the name of God amen I Etheldred Taylor of the County of Southampton being of a sound and disposing mind and memory and willing to Prevent disputes in my family about my Estate after my death, do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form following (to wit) Imprimis I lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth Taylor during her widowhood or my daughter Elizabeth Taylor arrives to the age of eighteen Sixty barrels Corn two good work Horses two Thousand Pounds good Pork twenty bushels wheat. Six Cows and Calves twelve ewes two Beds and furniture two walnut Tables one walnut dressing d.o all my table Linnen. Cupboard furniture table and tea Spoons twenty pounds in money Six weading hoes six hilling and four Grubing hoes four axes and my whip saw also the four following Slaves David (Cap.t) Charles and Phillis also David who is now Sick which Estate I lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth Taylor for the Purpose of Educating and Supporting my daughter Elizabeth Taylor~ Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Taylor one Negro Woman Easter and her increase to her and her heirs forever Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Taylor when she shall arrive at the age of eighteen or at the intermarriage of my wife Eliz.a Taylor all the estate both real and personal lent to my said wife Elizabeth and the increase thereof which Estate ~ [page break] [p.] 438 I give to my said daughter Elizabeth and her heirs forever Item Should the Mine lately dicovered in the Indian woods as on the Indian Lands prove profitable my will and desire is that my proportion after paying my debts be equally divided between my wife Elizabeth Taylor and my daughter Elizabeth Taylor.
