All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Council VICK, Sr. (1755-1826), will dated 29 Jul 1825, proved 15 May 1826 In the name of God amen I Council Vick Senr. of the county of Southampton in the state of Virginia being very low in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory do therefore under ____? consideration think proper to make this as my last will and testament which is in way and manner following to wit First I do hereby give unto my son James Vick one dollar to him and his heirs forever. I also give unto my son Elisha Vick one dollar to him and his heirs forever. I also give unto my son Council Vick one dollar to him and his heirs forever. I also give unto my daughter Lucy now Lucy Joyner one dollar to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my daughter Michael now Michael Revelle one dollar to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my daughter Sally now Sally Beale one dollar to her and her heirs forever. I also give unto my son Joel Vick all the balance or residue of my estate both real and personal after paying my funeral expenses and all my just outstanding debts to him and his heirs forever. I do hereby like wise constitute and appoint my son Joel Vick executor to this my last will and testament Given under my hand this 29th day of July 1825. Vick Mason Bishop Matthew Vick At a court held for the county of Southampton on the 15th of May 1826 this will was presented in court by Joel Vick the executor therein named proved by the oaths of Exum Vick, Mills W. Vick and Mason Bishop three of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on motion of the said executor made oath according to law certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form on his giving bond and security whereupon the said Joel Vick together with Exum Vick and Matthew Vick his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of eight hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs.
