Jesse VICK (1782-1827), will dated 9 Apr 1827, proved 16 Jul 1827 

I Jesse Vick of Southampton County and state of Virginia  I do make & ordain 
this my last will and Testament in manner and form following to Wit: 

First. I lend to my Wife all my Lands and Negroes during her life or widowhood 
also  it is my Desire that my son arrington Vick when he arrives to the age of 
twenty one Years, shall Receive the sum of one Thousand dollars as his portion 
of my Estate. 

2nd. The balance of my Estate to be equally divided between my other three 
children named Nancy, Pitman, and Robert Vick. 

Lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint Willie Wellons my Exor. to my last 
will & Testament.  Given under my hand this 9th day of April one Thousand eight 
hundred and twenty seven  1827

At a court held for Southampton County the 16th day of July 1827. This last will 
and Testament of Jesse Vick decd. was proved by the oaths of E. N. Branch and 
Joseph Gardner two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on 
the motion of Wilie Willons[sic] the Executor therein named who made oath 
thereto and together with Edward Branch & Silas Summerell his securities 
entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of five Thousand dollars 
conditioned as the Law directs, Certificate is granted the said Willie Wellons 
for obtaining a probat of this said will in due form
