SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Lydia Vaughan, 29 Dec 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- THE NUNCUPATIVE WILL of Lydia Vaughan, dec'd, as published and declared by her at her last sickness at the house of Noel Vick in the County of Southampton & state of Virginia in presence of Milly Porter & Patty Vick on Sunday night, the twentieth day of this instant December where she had resided for most the part of December past committed to writting on this present day and are as follows: I desire all that I have may be equally divided between Lydia Porter, Polly Vaughan, Fanny Vick and Betsy Vick. And I desire that you, Milly Porter, write it down according to my desire. We, Milly Porter & Patty Vick do hereby pronounce that the said Lydia Vaughan dec'd on Sunday night, the 20th day of this present month, at the house of the said Noel Vick in her last sickness declare her will & desire before them as above mention'd and that she called upon them to take notice of such her desire & that she, several times afterwards, particularly requested the said Milly Porter to see it done & fulfilled as she had directed. Given under our hands & seals this 29th day of December 1795, the said Lydia Porter is daughter of John Porter, dec'd, the said Polly Vaughan & Fanny Vick is daughters of the said Vaughan, dec'd, and the said Betsy Vick is daughter of P.(?) Vick. her Milly X Porter mark Sign'd, seal'd & declar'd and pronounced in presence of us: Jo Vick William Johnson At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 11th day of February 1796 This writing purporting the nuncupative Will of Lydia Vaughan, dec'd, was presented in court. Whereupon Milly Porter & Patty Vick, after being sworn depos'd? that the Testator called on them in her last ___rep at the house of Noel Vicks that the testament and contain'd in this writing was the same which she spoke at that time in consideration whereof this writing is established & ordered to be recorded.
