SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Robert Vick, 21 Aug 1788 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wills: Robert Vick, Southampton Co, VA (1789) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the 21st day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, I Robert Vick, in the presence and County of Southampton being weak in body but in perfect memory and sences, thanks be to God for it, therefore caling to mind the mortality of all men to die I do make and ordain this my last will and testament and first of all I recommend my soul to the Lord of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a decent like manner at the hands of my Executors and in keeping such worldly ..tations wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose it in the manner and form as followeth (to wit): Item: I give and bequeath to my son Jordan Vick my land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred acres more or less at my decease to sell to the highest bidder and sufficiently pay himself for all his trouble and caust he is at with me while I live and the remainder of it and all the rest of my hole estate goods and chattles to be equally divided between all my children.
