All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Elisha WHITFIELD (1788-1849), will dated 28 Sep 1849, proved 19 Nov 1849 In the name of God and men I Elisha Whitfield being very sick and weak but in perfect state of mind and memory do hereby give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Boykin one dollar also I loan all my property lands and personal estate to Nancy my wife her single life if she marry the the(sic) property will be divided between my four youngest children John, George, Robert and Lucy Ann. I leave Samuel Kello to administer on my estate: this is my last will and testament: in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day September 1849. Joyner At a court held for the County of Southampton on the 19th day of November 1849 this last will and testament of Elisha Whitfield deceased was proved by the oaths of Matthew Wellons and William B. Joyner two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and witnesses to and ordered to be recorded: And on the motion of Samuel Kello the executor therein named who made oath and together with Jno. M. Gurley and Sam. B. Kello his securities, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of five hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs.
