All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mary WILLIAMS (abt 1770-1836), will dated 28 Nov 1836, recorded 19 Dec 1836 I Mary Williams of Southampton County Va. do hereby make my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following, that is to say ~ 1st After paying my funeral expenses and just debts I give to my daughter Rebecca Whitfield, five dollars. 2nd I give to Rebecca J. Sandipher one bed and furniture, one chest and fifty dollars in Cash and the balance of my estate I give to my grandson Nathan J. Williams. And Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends Richard Porter and Britain Briant(sic), Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other former Wills and testaments by me heretofore made__ this 28th day of November 1836. In Witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this day and date above written. Mary Williams Signed sealed published and declared by Mary Williams as and } for her last Will & Testament in the presence and hearing of us} who at her request and _ her presence have subscribed our names} as Wwitnesses. Witness } Richard B. Furgason. Joseph C. Furgason. Collen J. Furgason. At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 19th day of December 1836. This last Will and Testament of Mary Williams decd. was proved by the oath of Richard B. Furgason, Joseph C. Furgason and Collen J. Furgason the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Britton(sic) Bryant, one of the Executors therein named, who made oath and together with Richard Porter and William D. Phillips, his securities, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of One thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat of said Will in due form.
