SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Richard Williams, 29 Jun 1795 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the twenty ninth day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety five, I Richard Williams of the county of Southampton, being weak in body but sound in mind and memory do constitute, make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following, viz: Item: I lend unto my beloved wife Rachal Williams my land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred & eleven acres more or less, during her single life or widowhood, also I lend unto my said wife Rachal Williams one feather bed & furniture, one cow and calf, one mare, one half of my pewter, one pot, one sow and pigs, during her single life or widowhood. Item: I give unto my said wife Rachal Williams ten barrels of corn and four hundred of pork, also her legacy left her by her mother Nancy Atkins. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son George Williams, after her death or marriage, my said wife Rachal Williams, my land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred and eleven acres, more or less, to him and his heirs forever, also two pewter dishes & half doz. in pewter plates, one pewter bason, one large pot, one small blue chest, one horse, one cow and calf, one sow and pigs, one bed and furniture, they and their increse to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Williams one feather bed and furniture to she and her heirs forever and my will and desire is that the remainder part of my stock that I haave not will'd away, should be sold and the money arising therefrom should be equally divided between my two children Elizabeth & George Williams and my will and desire is that the remainder part of my household and kitchen furniture that I have willed away thereto should be kept for _______of my two children: Elizabeth and George Williams when they arrive of age to them and their heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my two children Elizabeth and George Williams, after the death or marriage of my said wife, Rachael Williams, one feather bed and furniture, one cow and calf, one mare, one half of my pewter, one pot and one sow and piggs, to be equally divided to them & their heirs forever. And I do appoint Charles Birdsong my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament utterly revoking and disannulling all other Wills, Testaments, legacies and bequests whatsoever by me mentioned.
