SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA - WILLS AND ESTATES - Benjamin Worrell, 12 Apr 1802 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Benjamin Worrell Sr of Southampton being sick and weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, first: I give my soul to the almighty God that first gave it me, and touching what worldly goods I have to dispose of in manner following: Imprimis: I give unto my daughter Patience Tayler five shillings V.(Virginia) currency, to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give to my daughter Milly Barrett?(faint) five shillings V.currency to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give to my daughter Pheby Po_oton?(faint) shillings V.currency to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Amos Worrell five pounds V.money to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Nancy Pope five shillings V.money to her & her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Worrell one tract of land bounded as follows (to wit): beginning at a gum in the string of ponds thence along the string of ponds to Jacob McNeals line thence along the said McNeals line to a pine, a corner tree, from thence to Richard Williams line to a pine, thence along the said Williams line to a turky oak standing in the said? Worrells line, from thence to the beginning, the same being part of the tract of land whereon I now live, to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son James Worrell, to him and his heirs forever, all the residue of my land not heretofore given away, it being the old plantation whereon I now live, estimated at two hundred and thirty five acres, to take possession of the said land and plantation after the death of my beloved wife. Item: I lend to my beloved wife Mary Worrell the use of my plantation above disposed of to my son James Worrell, during her life, also all the residue of my personal estate and after the death of my wife, I give the said personal property to my daughter Polly Pope. I lend a negro by the name of David to my wife (Mary Worrell) and after the death of my wife, I give that said negroe David to my daughters Polly Pope, to her and her heirs forever. Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Mary Worrell & James Worrell whole & sole Executors to this my Last Will & Testament.
