Signed J N Chew, jr ___ ___ I do with the advice of council hereby certify that Mary Halbert, widow of Richard Halbert, a private of the Virginia militia ordered to the relief of South Carolina, who died in the service of the United States, is entitled to the sum of eight pounds yearly, to commence on the first day of January, 1786. Given under my hand at Richmond this 21st day of October, 1786 P. Henry Spotsylvania Court April 3 1787 Mary Halbert, widow of Richard Halbert, produced a certificate from under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, entitling her to receive the sum of eight pounds per annum to commence from the first day of January as a pension and making both that she is the person to whom it was given, and the court having compared the said certificate with the list has ______with the auditor and found it to be right do hereby direct the sheriff to pay the said eight pounds agreeable to _____ to _____ the act entitles the act to answer the act concerning pensioners.
