LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM SANDRIDGE SPOTSYLVANIA CO., VA., WILLS, BOOK A, P. 443. IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, the 10th Day of March one Thousand Seven hundred & forty Six I William Sandige of the Parish of St. George in the County of Spotsylvania being Very Sick & Weak but of Perfect Mind and memory Thanks Be Given unto God therefore Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die, Doe make & ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally & first of all, I recommend my Sole in to ye hands of all Mighty God that gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian like and Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors nothing Doubting but att the Genural Resurrection I Shall receive the Same again by the mighty Power of God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to Bless me in this life I Give Devise & Dispose of the same in ye following Manner and form - Imprimis It (is) my will & Desire that my son William Sandige Shall have my land at Elke creek with the appurtainances to him and The heirs of his Body lawfully begotten for Ever & if Wm. Die without heirs as aforesd. then the sd. Land to be Sold & the money to be Equally Divided amongst my surviving sons further it is my Will & Desire That my Youngest Son John Sandage Shall have the Land & Plantation Whereon I now live Concluding five hundred Acres with the appurtenances to him and the heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten for Ever, Also one Negro Boy Named Abram if John Dies without heirs then sd. Part of Estate Due to him by my will to fall to my son . . . . David. Item: I give to my son James Sandige five hundred acres of Land to him & the heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten for Ever, Also one Negro Fellow named Isaac, & if James Dies without heirs, Then That Part of Estate Due to him to fall to his two Brothers David & John Sandage. Item: I give to my son David Sandage five hundred Acres of Land being ye Premaner Part of East No. East Track to him and the heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten for Ever allsoe one Negroe Named Frank & if my Son David Should Die without heirs as afsd. Then ye Part of Estate Due to him by my will to fall to his Two brothers James and John Sandage - Item: I give to my Dear and well beloved Wife Three Negroes Named Peter, Jera, & Sue & one of the Choyest of all my beasts & one of the Choyest of all my Beds to her own Disposing for Ever. Item: I give to my Granddaughter Sarah Golson one hundred Acres of Land Adjoining To the Land that my Son-in-law Golson Lives on further it is my will & Desire that the Remainer Part of the Track of Land be Sold & the Money to be Equally Divided between my Two Sons James & David Sandage. Further it is my will that my son William Sandige Shall have my howse Arnes further it is my will & Desire that my Son William Shall have one Shilling further it is my Will and Desire that my Daughter Golson Shall have one Shilling, further is it my will & Desire that all the Remainder Part of my Estate after all my Debts is paid Shall be Equally Divided between my Dear and Well beloved Wife, Ann Sandige & my Three Sons, James, David & John Sandige but after the Death of my afsd. Wife then that Part Due to her by my will to be Equally Divided between the sd. Three Sons James, David & John Sandige and I hereby ordain & Appoint my Dear & Well beloved Wife Ann & her two Sons James & David Sandige my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament, Disallowing, Revoking & Disannulling all and Every other former Testaments & Wills and Legatees bequeathed & Executd. by me in any Ways before this time Named Willed & bequeathed Ratified and Confirniing this and Noe other to be my Last Will & Testament.
