STAFFORD COUNTY, VIRGINIA - ALLEN/DILASUMATE DEED File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Molly Shumate DEED William Allen to John Dilasumate (SHUMATE) Stafford County Deed Book 1722-1728 Pages 49-51 THIS INDENTURE made this ninth day of October in the tenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith, etc., and in the year of our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and twenty-three. Between William Allen of Overwharton Parish in the County of Stafford, Grantor of the one part, and John Dilasumate of the said Parish and County of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said William Allen for Diverse good causes, him thereunto moving, but more especially for and in Consideration that the said John Dilasuemate hath formerly paid unto the said William Allen the composition and other Office Charges of two hundred acres of land. Hath Demised, Granted, Sell and to Farm lett, and by these presents Doth Devise, Grant, sell and to Farm lett unto the said John Dilasuemate, his heirs, Executors, Adm's and assigns, all that Certain tract or parcell of land, whereon the said John Dilasuemate now dwells scituate, lyeing and being in the Parish and County aforesaid, Containing two hundred acres, being part of a large tract of land Containing Eight hundred and forty acres granted unto the said William Allen by Deed from the Proprietors Office bearing date the fourteenth day of March One thousand seven hundred and eighteen nineteen and is bounded by the lines of marked trees as by the platt more fully appear, vis: Beginning at the Mouth of a Branch of Elk Run which Divides the land that William Hogan lives on and the land of John Dilasuemate and extending thence North Seventy two Degrees East two hundred eleven poles to a white oak thence North thirty degrees East two hundred four poles to three white oaks, thence along the line which divides the land of Joseph Allen and the said Dilasuemate, South Westerly four hundred thirty-eight poles to Elk run, thence along the said run to the beginning. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said two hundred acres of land, together with all houses, outhouses, Gardens, Orchards, fences, Meadows, pastures, Feeding woods,under woods, swamps, Marches, ways, waters, water courses and all other Emoluments, Hereditaments and appurtenences to the said grant, premises belonging or in any wise appertaining for and during the full end and term of ninety-nine years to be fully compleat and deeded from the date of these presents, the said John Dilasuemate, his heirs, Executors, Adm's or assigns yeilding and paying yearly unto the said William Allen, his heirs, Executors or Adm's, one Ear of Indian Corn only if the same be demanded and also the rents and services which shall become due to the Chief Lord or Lords of the fee or fees of the premises, and the said William Allen for himself, his heirs, Executors, Adm's, Assigns Doth Covenant and agree to and with the said John Dilasumate, he heirs, Executors, Adm's and assigns that it shall and may be lawful for him the said John Dilasuemate, his heirs, Executors, Adm's or assigns from time to time and at all times hereafter during the said term peacefully and quietly to have, hold, possess, occupy and enjoy the said two hundred acres of land and with their and every of their appurtenances without the lettsuite into trouble, molestation of him the said William Allen, his heirs, Executors or Adm's or any of them or any other person or persons lawfully Claiming from, by or under them or either of them. IN WITNESS whereof the partys to this Indenture have hereunto interchangeably sett their hands and seals the date and year first above written.
