Jane Hurst will 1756/1757; Stafford Co., Virginia ================================================================== In the Name of God amen I Jane Hurst of the County of Stafford being sick and weak of body but of perfect sence and memory thanks be to God do make this my last will and Testament. Imprimis I recommend my soul to god who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my Executor, and as for what worldy goods it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I [illegible] of in the manner following. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Son James Hurst all & singular my goods Chattels, household furniture, & stock of all kind whatsoever that doth or shall belong to me to him the said James Hurst and his heirs forever. I also give to my said Son James Hirst one Negro man named Will to him and his heirs forever. I also give and bequeath unto my said Son James one Servant man named John [illegible] for and during the time of his Indenture together with all debts whatsoever that doth or shall be due to me. I do hereby appoint and constitute my said Son James Hurst to be my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament and disannulling all Wills by me [illegible]fore made. I do declare this to be my last Will and Testament. January the twenty seventh one thousand seven hundred and fifty six. Jane Hurst 8 her mark John Grant, Lydia Grant her mark, Duke Whalebone his mark. At a Court held for Stafford County the tenth day of May 1757. The last will and Testament of Jane Hurst deced. was presented into Court by James Hurst Executor herein named who made Oath thereto according to Law and being further proved by [illegible] John Grant of the the witnesses thereto subscribed is admitted to Record and on motion of the said Executor and he performing what is usual in such laws Certificate is granted him for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form.
